“His hands are clean who warns another.”

His hands are clean who warns another.” Njal's Saga, Ch. 41

Short and sweet. If we know of an evil, a danger, a concern that could affect another it is incumbent upon us to offer our perspective.

Notice the libertarian nature of the advice; it is offered with no expectation that our warnings be heeded.

The duty is to offer warning where we see danger, but no further.

We are not to restrict other’s from exercising their will.

Our warning meets our duty and our integrity is further served by not restricting or impeding others’ free actions.

A beautiful ethic. Helpful where wanted, hands-off where not wanted; individualistic once duty is done.

Ég býð við viðvörun, ekki bann.

I offer warning, not prohibition.
