“Boldly do men talk from a distance.”
Ain’t that the truth.
Many of us are fearless warriors on the Home Front with big big talk
of how things should be done “over there.”
How many of these strategists leave their chairs and enlist?
Many a loud voice decries what goes on in the ring or cage.
How many of these can be persuaded to lace up gloves or wrestling
shoes?
Many of us can loudly state just how awesomely we will crush our
goals, we may even write them in a firm hand and stick them on the refrigerator
with a big red magnet.
As January nears or recedes in the distance how many can we check off?
Compare today’s wisdom with the wisdom of the Caddo Indians who have
an expression, “Tied Dog.”
A “Tied Dog” is a “fighter” who runs snarling toward a fight but stops
before he gets there like a dog at the end of a rope.
"Megum
við vera feitletrað og ekki bara rödd orðin feitletraðir karlar og konur."
“May we BE bold and not merely voice the words
of bold men and women.”
